Corrie spoilers confirm sad Jenny update as new Rovers Return manager unveiled

Coronation Street spoilers have confirmed a huge Rovers Return Inn update in more devastating news for Jenny Connor.

Soap watchers will recall that Jenny and stepdaughter Daisy Midgeley bought the iconic boozer back in 2023. The duo used stolen money after successfully accessing Jenny’s late ex-boyfriend Stephen Reid’s accounts, where he had stole from Carla Connor’s factory accounts.

In true soap fashion, Carla eventually discovered the truth with the duo paying off their debts in a payment plan to Carla. However, following Carla’s health woes and kidney transplant, the Underworld owner has demanded the money back in full to pay for her expensive health bills.

After failing to come up with the money, Carla decided to put the iconic boozer up for sale with Jenny begging for first refusal after coming into £60,000 from shares Daisy’s father had put in her name.

Jenny kept her plan, and her large windfall, from Daisy who decided in retaliation to leave Jenny penniless and publess with help from her mother Christina Boyd.

The duo scammed Jenny by setting up a fake dating profile of a man called ‘Dom’ and when ‘Dom’ showed up in real life, he encouraged Jenny to invest in his business, promising she would double her money as all part of the trio’s scam.

However, in a huge twist, it was Daisy who ran off with Jenny’s cash last week as she bid farewell to the cobbles after five years with Jenny left devastated over the developments.

After losing her money and the pub up for sale, next week’s spoilers issue a devastating update for Jenny as it’s revealed she’s left and has packed up her things to move in with Rita Tanner.

With Jenny gone and her nephew Ryan Connor working for Debbie Webster, Carla promotes Glenda Shuttleworth to manager of the Rovers Return Inn.

Later in the week, new manager Glenda struggles as she tells Carla she’s short staffed at the pub and needs more workers. Will Carla find a new barmaid and who could it be?

It comes as Daisy star, Charlotte Jordan, said of her exit: “I think it’s very bittersweet for Daisy to be leaving. Weatherfield has been her home for a while now and, early on, was giving her all the things she wanted – family, community, stability, people to love more than she perhaps loves herself – but it’s also been the source of so much trauma for her.

“As for me, I’m feeling really grateful for my years on the show and the people I’ve gotten to work with. Producer Kate has been so supportive about me wanting to go back out into the audition circuit and very generous with Daisy’s exit story, as she really wanted to do the character justice.

“Coronation Street is a very special building, and I have loved it. And it’s just goodbye for now, not goodbye forever.”
