The character has unfortunately been linked to her own sister’s death after Julie Carp was discovered to have taken an overdose while living with terminal cancer.

After Julie’s death during a trip to the lake, Eileen ended up being taken in for questioning by DS Lisa Swain, and when she was eventually allowed to go home, pending further investigation, she was crestfallen and feared for her future.

Now, Corrie viewers think they have worked out what really happens. A new teaser for the aftermath of the dramatic week ahead has got Corrie fans talking.

The teaser shared across social media reads: “A sad day dawns on the Street as the residents prepare to say a final farewell to a friend, prompting the return of a familiar face, a cruel accusation and a very awkward proposal…”

And while some were quick to assume it could involve fan-favourite couple Carla Connor and Lisa Swain, others think that it could be the moment that spells the end for George and Eileen.
