Joshua Morrow Breaks Longtime Soap Promise to Watch Son on The Bold and the Beautiful

Joshua Morrow, the longtime actor behind Nick Newman on The Young and the Restless, recently opened up about a personal change he made after his son, Crew Morrow, joined The Bold and the Beautiful. After over 30 years in the soap world, Joshua admitted he broke a promise he had made to himself decades ago.

From Promise to Pride

Early in his career, Joshua vowed never to watch soap operas. However, everything changed when Crew stepped into the soap world in 2024 as Will Spencer on The Bold and the Beautiful.

“I always swore I’d never watch soap operas, but I watch my son when I’m at work,” Joshua confessed to Soap Opera Digest. “My TV is always on their feed. I put it on and I watch everything I can. I’ve recorded his show so I can watch him. I couldn’t be prouder of him.”

Watching Crew’s performance has become a source of pride for Joshua, who now fully embraces the chance to support his son’s career.

Working Across the Hall

The arrangement was convenient at first. B&B was filming at Television City, just across the hall from Y&R. Joshua found comfort knowing he could check in on Crew if needed.

“At the beginning, Crew came to me a lot for advice, but those days are long gone,” Joshua explained. “He’s found his own rhythm in soaps.”

This proximity allowed father and son to bond during filming, share meals, and exchange tips, strengthening their personal and professional relationship.

Heartbroken Over Studio Move

Things changed when The Bold and the Beautiful relocated to Sunset Studios. The move left Joshua feeling nostalgic and a bit heartbroken.

“They just moved their studio and man, I’m heartbroken by it. I absolutely loved seeing him in the hallway and grabbing lunch, and nothing made me feel better as a father,” Joshua said. “And then I blink and they’re gone.”

Despite the physical distance, Joshua remains confident in Crew’s abilities and knows he will continue to excel on B&B.

A Proud Father’s Perspective

Joshua praised his son’s ambition, determination, and strong-willed nature. “He’s very put together, very driven, very ambitious. He’s got his mother’s strong-mindedness and strong will. Sky’s the limit for this kid,” Joshua stated.

Crew’s success on B&B is clearly a source of joy and pride for Joshua, who watches his son’s performances with admiration. The dynamic between father and son in the soap world continues to inspire fans.

Future Possibilities

The Morrow men’s careers may eventually intersect on screen. Fans could see them appear together in a potential Y&R and B&B crossover episode. Until then, viewers can enjoy watching Joshua on Y&R and Crew on B&B, cheering for both as they continue to thrive in their respective roles.

The two CBS soaps remain staples of daytime television, airing weekdays and continuing to captivate loyal audiences.
