Coronation Street closes the door on Jenny Connor’s time at the Rovers Return tonight.
The fan favourite makes a fresh start as she moves out of the pub after seven years – and firmly vows that she won’t be back.
Jenny recently landed herself a new job at The Kabin, striking out early as Carla Connor has decided to sell The Rovers to new owners.
In new scenes tonight, it’s clear that Jenny didn’t hang about afterwards, as Carla, Glenda Shuttleworth and Ryan Connor all discuss the fact that she’s worked her final shift.
“I still can’t believe she left with zero notice,” Carla complains.
The changes continue to unfold at the pub as Carla appoints Glenda to the position of manager.
Jenny pops up later to collect more of her belongings, confirming that she’s moving in with Rita Tanner in the Kabin flat so will be staying very close.
That evening, Jenny pays a visit to the pub as a punter and receives some words of encouragement from Glenda.
“I’m not buying it,” Glenda remarks as she reflects on Jenny’s fresh start. “You’ll be back behind this bar soon enough.”
A decisive Jenny replies: “No, I won’t. You know, after years of fighting for it, letting it go is liberating.”
With Carla still hoping to find new buyers for The Rovers, it’s clear that the changes are only just beginning – but Jenny seems to have decided that she’s better off out of it. Will she find happiness again away from the pub?
Coronation Street fans can see these scenes tonight at 8pm on ITV1, or right now on ITVX.
