Actor Joe Layton made his debut in the controversial role earlier this year. The character arrived in Weatherfield on Valentine’s Day, days after his wife Lou Micahelis, played by Farrel Hegarty, was first seen.

The pair were unveiled as part of a new family, described as “nightmare neighbours”, and were seen moving into Mawdsley Street at the back of Chesney and Gemma Winter-Brown’s house, which is the first time ever Corrie has extended the serial drama across the ginnel.

Trying to avoid violence following a warning, Gary decided to give him a taste of his own medicine by locking him in the same tool shed, before letting him out and firing him.

Mick made it clear Gary would regret his decision and later, things turned violent when the newcomer cornered Gary and punched him. As they scuffled, Gary grabbed an empty bottle and was ready to use it is a weapon, but DC Kit Green intervened and stopped them, letting Mick go.

But as Corrie fans know, Mick has a hold over Kit and that later became more evident when a bloodied Gary was taken to the station by Kit, with Mick having made a claim of false imprisonment. Kit didn’t conduct a proper interview with Gary, making him more suspicious as to why Kit was covering for Mick.

Later, at the Bistro, Kit told Mick they were “even” after the day’s events, but Mick insisted even was “something we are far, far away from”. Soon after, viewers saw that Mick had trashed the builders’ yard and as a simmering Gary went to hit back, Mick gloated that there was no point in reporting it.

During Friday’s (May 16) Corrie, viewers will discover what really happened between Kit and Mick as its revealed they go way back to when they were children, as well as Lou.

The previously announced flashback episode will see viewers transported back to 2007 to witness the teenage years of Kit (Jacob Roberts), Mick (Joe Layton), and Lou and uncover the truth behind their intertwined past.

Secrets will be revealed, and long-buried traumas will resurface, shedding light on Kit’s motivations and the reason behind his complicated relationships.

The episode will feature three actors taking on the younger roles of Kit (Brook Debio), Mick (Lewis Walton), and Lou (Charlotte Alex-Riley), providing a transition between their past and present lives.

Ahead of the episode airing, Corrie took to Instagram with a video in which they questioned Joe, Farrel and Jacob Roberts, who plays Kit, as well as the trio of actors playing their young characters, on events of 2007.

Alongside the video, a caption read: “How well do you remember 2007?! Join us in our throwback quiz ahead of tomorrow night’s special 2007 flashback episode! Catch all the drama on ITV1 at 8pm or stream early on ITVX at 7am. (Link in bio!).”

But Corrie fans couldn’t help but be taken aback by Mick’s ‘real voice’ as Joe is very different to his on-screen alter-ego.
